The three-day, two-night Tech Day was full of rewards, with several key highlights:

Technical lectures from various companies: From soft skills such as software development experience sharing to hardcore content on DevOps, DB, etc., there was something for everyone. Each lecture had corresponding Hack.md and Slido for collaborative note-taking and questions, which I found excellent. Among them, I also saw the current trends in the group, such as k8s, Kafka, event-driven... technologies that point towards the direction we can move forward as we continue to grow. Additionally, AI-related tools, which have recently gained popularity, are also areas for us to explore.

Organizer's event arrangement: From ice-breaking games at the beginning to quickly establish connections between people, group activities to facilitate communication between different companies, to Techcovery interspersed throughout the lectures. Techcovery = Technology + Discovery, where each group member recaps and shares key points based on previous lecture content, allowing others who didn't participate to resonate and deepen their impressions. Finally, there were Lightning shows and Open Space sessions, allowing for additional sharing of information and discussions on suitable solutions or ideas. I personally raised a topic in Open Space, "How to optimize program performance to the extreme," which led to many collisions of ideas and collected many options from participating members. It was a fruitful experience.

Chit-Chat Time in the evening: I believe this was the core of the entire event. With alcohol fueling conversations, it was an opportunity to establish deeper connections with members from other companies. It was also a chance to bring up problems encountered at work, generating more collisions and resonances of ideas. Furthermore, it helped establish more connections between individuals. The topics discussed over these two days were diverse, ranging from venting about third-party integration to IT-related discussions, from technical matters to personal ones. As long as topics were not deliberately excluded, conversations flowed effortlessly, and everyone was eager to share.

Event souvenirs: A T-shirt and a stainless steel insulated cup, both of good quality and quite practical.

This was an event full of surprises. Attending Tech Day for the first time made me realize what the world outside looks like. I encountered many technologies I hadn't known before and met many engineers like myself, exchanging problems encountered in development.

After the event, what I wanted to do most was bring back the skills and tools I learned to the team, helping us develop more smoothly and solve more problems.

Learning about participating in Tech Day for three days and two nights was both exciting and a bit scary.

It was exciting to be able to interact with technologies that I had only heard about but never seen before, and now I had the opportunity to exchange information about them.

I was also apprehensive about meeting many different people and having to spend over eight hours a day for three days continuously.

Throughout these three days, there were many ice-breaking games that allowed everyone to quickly get into the groove. Many companies also sent speakers to share what they had recently done and what problems they had solved, which was really informative. I also became aware of the attempts made by other companies and the problems they encountered, which allowed us to predict the problems we might encounter in the future or things we could prepare for now to optimize our current systems or processes, making the company better.

Finally, I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a grand event. These three days were very fulfilling, with uninterrupted lectures and exchanges, and of course, the chitchat time every evening. I'm already looking forward to next year's Tech Day.

I participated in this year's Tech Day with a full load of tasks and nerves.

I went specifically for the DB-related challenges and gained a lot in that area!

Alex's topic on "Database Lightweight Elastic Migration under Cross-Strait Crisis" shared what we've been doing in DR for more than a year. The bottleneck in these DR Drills has always been in the DB area. Just moving and decompressing files takes a basic 4 hours. Through Alex's sharing, I truly broke through the existing framework of DB Restore, which was the biggest AHA moment for me in these three days.

On the last day, the Open Space was something I was looking forward to discussing the future architecture of DB. There were some sparks and ideas generated through discussions, but due to time constraints and the broad proposition, the discussion was too divergent with no real conclusion, which was a bit regrettable.

Despite being anxious throughout these three days and exhausting all my social energy for the year, the harvest was fruitful. I'm looking forward to next year's Tech Day, to see where these experts have evolved to.
